Jillian Nowicki, a former standout at Academy of Our Lady of Peace now playing for the Smith Pioneers, is set to take part in the NCAA Division III Basketball Tournament.
The Pioneers’ opening matchup will be against the Union Garnet Chargers.
The tournament begins Friday, March 6 at 4:45 p.m. at Alumni Gymnasium.
Five San Diego Toreros softball players have been honored by the West Coast Conference for their academic achievements alongside athletic performance this season. The honorees include Mallory Axline, Taylor Johnson, Hailey Mulligan, Alex Riggs, and Kelsey Tadlock.

San Diego State University announced that Harold “Hal” Brown has died at age 92. Brown was recognized for his athletic achievements and significant contributions to civil rights initiatives both on campus and throughout San Diego.
