Ema Narita of the San Diego State women’s golf team was named to the All-Mountain West First Team, the conference office announced on May 8.

Narita, a junior from Tokyo, finished the season with a stroke average of 72.79, which is the fourth best in program history. She led her team in all major statistical categories including stroke average, win-loss record (603-178-26), count percentage (95.6%), rounds in the 60s (6), rounds under par (11), and birdies (90).

During this season, Narita achieved three top-10 finishes and placed within the top 20 six times. Her average finish was 16th place. Her standout performance occurred at the Yale Invitational West where she shot a career-best six-under-par 210 and tied for second place. This score marked the best 54-hole result by an Aztec since 2019.

Narita also matched her career-low for an individual round by shooting a five-under-par 67 at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational, becoming only the fifteenth Aztec to shoot a score of 67 or lower. She tied for sixth out of 112 competitors at that tournament with a four-under-par total of 212.

This is Narita’s first all-conference selection and marks San Diego State’s first such honor since 2022. Other Mountain West honors included Zi Yu Foong from UNLV as Women’s Golfer of the Year and Alexis Vakasiuola from Grand Canyon as Freshman of the Year.
