Four San Diego State University Aztecs softball players were named to the All-Mountain West teams, according to a May 6 announcement from the league.

The recognition highlights individual achievements of Aztecs athletes during conference play, as determined by votes from the league’s ten head coaches. These honors reflect both athletic performance and consistency throughout the Mountain West season.

Kaila Pollard was selected for the First Team after leading San Diego State in nearly every offensive category during conference games. She posted a .410 batting average, seven home runs, and started all 25 games in right field. Pollard’s selection continues San Diego State’s record of having at least one player on the top all-conference team for all 27 seasons of Mountain West history. The university is currently the only school with this distinction.

Jade Ignacio earned Second Team honors for her performance as catcher, hitting .293 with six extra base hits and maintaining a perfect fielding percentage in conference play. Lala Macario and Quinn Waiki received Honorable Mention recognition; Macario played every game at second base and had a .351 batting average, while Waiki contributed both offensively with five home runs and defensively as shortstop.

The league also announced its major postseason awards: Hannah Di Genova of Nevada was named Player of the Year; Lauren Fettic of UNLV received Pitcher of the Year; Sydney McCray from Grand Canyon was Defensive Player of the Year; Katelyn Wetteland from Nevada earned Freshman of the Year; and Shanon Hays from Grand Canyon was selected Coach of the Year.

These recognitions underscore continued strong performances by San Diego State athletes within their conference.
