On Friday, March 13, Point Loma Sea Lions, featuring former Cathedral Catholic High School standout Izzy Navarro, were defeated 74-60 by the Western Washington Vikings in the NCAA Division II Basketball Tournament.
The game, held at Nicholson Arena at 2:30 p.m., was Point Loma’s first tournament contest against the Western Washington Vikings.
Five San Diego Toreros softball players have been honored by the West Coast Conference for their academic achievements alongside athletic performance this season. The honorees include Mallory Axline, Taylor Johnson, Hailey Mulligan, Alex Riggs, and Kelsey Tadlock.
On Friday, May 15, these former City of San Diego area high school stars will be competing.
San Diego State University announced that Harold “Hal” Brown has died at age 92. Brown was recognized for his athletic achievements and significant contributions to civil rights initiatives both on campus and throughout San Diego.
