Scott Peters, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 50th district since 2013, has recently shared his views on various political issues through a series of tweets. Born in Springfield, Ohio, and currently residing in San Diego, Peters graduated from Duke University and later earned a JD from New York University. His tweets address concerns about tariffs, the cost of living, and support for public servants.

On March 15, 2025, Peters criticized Speaker Johnson and Republicans for altering rules to avoid accountability regarding President Trump’s tariffs. He stated that “Tariffs are raising prices for Americans and have spooked the financial markets, wiping out trillions in value and harming investors and the retirements of our…”

The following day, March 16, 2025, Peters commented on Donald Trump’s promises related to grocery prices. He noted that despite Trump’s assurance to lower costs immediately upon taking office, “eggs are at a record high price.” He further expressed concern over rising living costs due to what he described as “Trump and Republicans’ inflationary, market-crashing tariffs.”

Later on March 16th, Peters thanked an individual named Ryleigh for sharing their story. He acknowledged hearing from other public servants who faced job losses despite contributing positively to society. In his tweet, he urged Democrats to support those affected by such circumstances rather than criticize them based on political beliefs: “Democrats should rally around people in their time of need and not kick people for their political beliefs…”
