San Diego State women’s tennis will travel to Logan, Utah, and Boise, Idaho, for its first Mountain West road trip of the season on March 20 and March 22. The Aztecs are set to play against the Utah State Aggies on Friday and the Boise State Broncos on Sunday.

The matches mark an important step in San Diego State’s conference schedule as the team looks to build on its strong start. The Aztecs currently hold a 10-1 overall record and are undefeated in Mountain West play at 2-0. They are ranked 31st nationally in this week’s Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings.

Last weekend, San Diego State opened conference play with two shutout victories over Fresno State and San Jose State. Senior Jo-Yee Chan led the team by winning all three of her matches on the top court in both singles and doubles, partnering with Vessa Turley. Jayna Clemens and Ninon Martinache also secured two doubles wins each, while Gloria Alogo, Teja Tirunelveli, Vesa Gjinaj, and Liisa Varul won their respective singles matches.

Utah State enters Friday’s match with a 7-5 record for the season and is 1-1 in Mountain West competition after losing to Wyoming but defeating Colorado State last Sunday. Boise State holds a 10-2 overall record and is also undefeated in league play at 2-0 following wins over Wyoming and Colorado State.

After completing this weekend’s road trip, San Diego State will return home to host its final non-conference match against No. 32 SMU at the Aztec Tennis Center.
