Rep. Scott Peters, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 50th district since 2013, addressed a range of issues in three separate posts on May 12, 2026.
In his first post at 16:51 UTC, Peters congratulated a local educational institution: “Congratulations to High Tech High! Carrying on San Diego’s smart and innovative legacy https://t.co/Ims4je8uGx”.
Later that day, at 19:27 UTC, Peters criticized Republican lawmakers regarding federal spending priorities. He wrote: “Republicans claimed we didn’t have enough money to extend Affordable Care Act tax credits, but are now asking for a billion to build the President a ballroom – after he promised taxpayers wouldn’t foot the bill. It’s shameful. https://t.co/NOVuHMCGn4”.
At 22:52 UTC on the same day, Peters commented on economic concerns and legislative reforms: “The American people have been clear: the cost-of-living is too high. We need to fix this crisis. Listen to the Electric Perspectives podcast to learn more about my work to reform our outdated permitting processes and get more clean energy, housing, and transportation built so we”.
Peters has served as California’s representative in Congress since replacing Brian Bilbray in 2013. Born in Springfield, Ohio in 1958 and currently residing in San Diego, Peters holds degrees from Duke University (BA) and New York University (JD).
