Rep. Scott Peters, who represents California’s 50th district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared updates on his legislative priorities and community engagements through a series of posts on social media.

On August 25, 2025, Peters addressed his commitment to advancing energy infrastructure policy. He stated, “I’m committed to passing permitting reforms so we can build the cleaner, more reliable, and affordable energy infrastructure we need. Later that day, Peters highlighted his participation in a local business opening in San Diego’s Hillcrest neighborhood. He wrote on August 25, 2025: “It was great to join Halal Guys for their recent Hillcrest grand opening. The following day, Peters shared insights from a healthcare visit focused on cancer treatment innovation. On August 26, 2025 he posted: “Last week, I visited @PalomarHealth and learned more about their new brachytherapy treatment for prostate cancer. The treatment reduces the number of visits for radiation from 40 to just 2. It’s remarkable and highlights why we must fund the research that drives groundbreaking https://t.co/XLjJDnC9qf”.

Peters has represented California’s 50th district since replacing Brian Bilbray in 2013. He was born in Springfield, Ohio in 1958 and currently resides in San Diego at age 64. His academic background includes a BA from Duke University (1980) and a JD from New York University (1984).
