Ashford University enrolls 28,701 undergrads

At Ashford University, 88 percent of undergraduate students are nontraditional students - age 25 or older - and 71 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private for-profit institution in San Diego enrolled 34,710 students in fall 2018, including 28,701 in undergraduate and 6,009 in graduate programs, data shows. 13.7 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

6 percent of undergraduates are residents of California, and 93 percent are residents of other states.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (42 percent) and Black or African American (33 percent).
