About 41.1 percent of the 9,832 degrees and certificates handed out by Ashford University in 2017-18 were to students in business, management, marketing, and related support services programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private for-profit institution in Diego conferred 2803 bachelor's degrees and 1236 master's degrees in business, management, marketing, and related support services programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in "other" business administration, management and operations. Data shows the school gave out 866 bachelor's degrees in "other" business administration, management and operations, followed by 709 bachelor's degrees in early childhood education and teaching and 666 master's degrees in general business administration and management.

The university enrolled 34,710 students for 2017-18, including 28,701 in undergraduate programs and 6,009 in graduate programs.
