6.2% of citizens unemployed in San Diego County in 2021

San Diego County recorded an unemployment rate of 6.2% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 110,391 people out of the 3,296,317 living in San Diego County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in San Diego County has increased compared to the 5.9% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in San Diego County was less than the statewide unemployment rate of 6.5%.

Of the 1,655,965 people who had a job during that time, 83,038 were employed in the Armed Forces and 1,572,927 belonged to the civilian labor force.
