San Diego County News Center reported that in honor of the Cesar Chavez Day holiday, all San Diego County offices, family resource centers, libraries, and animal shelters will be closed to the public on Monday, April 1. The closure is part of the county's commemoration of the holiday.
While most facilities will be closed, essential services such as law enforcement, emergency animal control response, and other critical services will continue to operate throughout the holiday period. San Diego County emphasized that county parks, campgrounds, and neighborhood day-use parks will remain open on April 1, as they do every day of the year.
In line with the closures, all County public health clinics will also be closed on Monday. However, normal business operations are expected to resume on Tuesday, April 2, for all County offices.
As the Cesar Chavez Day holiday approaches, residents are encouraged to plan accordingly for any services affected by the closures. Camping reservations can still be made online during this period, although the Department of Parks and Recreation's reservation phone line will not be staffed on the holiday.
The news release from the San Diego County News Center did not specify the reason for the closures, but it highlighted the significance of honoring Cesar Chavez Day. The closures serve as a reminder of the importance of recognizing and celebrating the contributions of Cesar Chavez to the labor and civil rights movements in the United States.
