San Diego officials seek help identifying deceased train victim

The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office is seeking assistance from the public to identify a woman who died after being struck by a train on August 12. Despite efforts, investigators have been unable to determine her identity.

The woman is described as Caucasian, between 50 and 60 years old, approximately 5 feet 3 inches tall, and weighing around 110 pounds. She had curly brown hair and brown eyes. A distinctive feature noted by Medical Examiner Investigator Jennifer Wright is a text or script tattoo on her left forearm.

The incident occurred near the Carlsbad Boulevard bridge at 7:30 p.m., involving a northbound Coaster commuter train in Carlsbad. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene and did not have any identification with her. Attempts to identify her using fingerprint technology have been unsuccessful.
