San Diego County Animal Services has introduced a new licensing system offering additional benefits for dog owners. The integration of DocuPet's services includes a free 24/7 lost pet service within the system, facilitating pet registration online, by mail, phone, or in person. The partnership aims to streamline processes and improve animal welfare.

"This innovative system streamlines pet licensing and improves animal welfare across our community," Vaughn Maurice, County Animal Services director, stated. "With fewer pets entering shelters, we can focus more resources on those that truly need our care. We’re thrilled to launch this partnership with DocuPet."

Dog licensing alongside an up-to-date rabies vaccination is mandatory in San Diego County. The new system aims to encourage compliance by making the process more convenient.

"We’re proud to partner with San Diego County to support responsible pet ownership," Grant Goodwin, CEO of DocuPet, mentioned. "Pets with DocuPet tags spend little to no time in shelters, compared to unlicensed pets. This partnership is a meaningful step toward reducing shelter intake and increasing return-to-owner rates."

DocuPet provides a variety of pet tags, each integrated into their HomeSafe lost pet service. This system allows pet finders and owners to report missing pets, enhancing the chances of reunification.

San Diego County Animal Services is also promoting their shelter adoption services. During their Spring Break-Out event, adopters can set their adoption price for adult animals. The campaign offers a festive touch, with visitors encouraged to wear beach attire for complimentary items.

County Animal Services prioritizes the welfare of both animals and humans, focusing on promoting responsible pet care and adoption services. DocuPet aims to ensure every pet lives in a safe and happy home.
