UC San Diego was narrowly defeated by Dartmouth with a score of 4-3 on March 22 at the Northview Tennis Courts. The Tritons, now holding a record of 5-10, secured the doubles point but were unable to maintain their lead as Dartmouth, which improved to 10-4, claimed four singles matches to win the contest.
The outcome highlights the competitive nature of collegiate tennis and underscores the challenges teams face in converting early advantages into overall victories.
In doubles play, Alisa Lansky and Allison Lian earned a 6-4 victory at No. 2 doubles, while Carling Allaye-Chan and Hana Gamracy won a tiebreaker at No. 3 doubles with a score of 7-6(7). Olivia Allegre and Julia Visaya lost their match at No. 1 doubles, finishing 3-6. In singles competition, Lansky posted a three-set win at No. 2 (6-4, 5-7, 6-2), and Lian prevailed in a third set tiebreaker at No. 5 (7-6(2), 4-6, 1-0(10-6)). However, Allaye-Chan fell in three sets at No. 3 (3-6, 6-3, 2-6), Gamracy lost at No. 4 (3-6, 4-6), Visaya was defeated at No. 6 (2-6, 4-6), and Allegre ended her match at No.1 with scores of (2-6,0–6).
Lansky and Lian have now extended their winning streak as a doubles pair to two matches and are tied for the most wins among Triton pairs this season with seven.
Looking ahead, UC San Diego will travel to Santa Clara for its next match against the Broncos on Tuesday, March 24.
