Vista Sheriff’s Station reports arrests in Oceanside burglary and illegal firearm case

Detectives from the Vista Sheriff’s Station arrested two individuals on March 12 in the City of Oceanside after serving a residential search warrant as part of an ongoing burglary investigation, according to a March 16 statement. The search took place in the 2700 block of College Blvd., where law enforcement seized several illegal items including a privately manufactured assault rifle, high-capacity magazines, ammunition, body armor, narcotics, and stolen property.

The incident highlights ongoing efforts by local authorities to address both property crimes and illegal firearms possession. During the operation, Johnathan Perez was arrested and charged with burglary along with other theft-related offenses. Both were booked into the Vista Detention Facility. Lieutenant Noah Zarnow said this remains an active and ongoing investigation.
