San Diego State University’s women’s track and field team opened its 2026 outdoor season at the Beach Opener, hosted by Long Beach State at Jack Rose Track.

Senior Tatum Zinkin was the only SDSU athlete to compete in this meet, participating in the 800-meter run. Zinkin entered with the fastest seed time and finished third with a time of 2:16.62.

The team has a busy schedule ahead. On March 13, Xiamara Young will represent SDSU at the NCAA Indoor National Championships, competing in both the long jump and triple jump events. The same day, San Diego State will host the Aztec Coastal Classic and Distance Carnival, which is set to feature more than 20 distance races during an evening session.
