The South Bay has its first vaccination superstation in Chula Vista due to a partnership between the city, San Diego Count and Sharp Healthcare, with the location expected to vaccinate approximately 5,000 people a day on average against the novel coronavirus that causes COVID-19.

The superstation began with administering vaccines to individuals in the Phase 1A group, the city said in a release. Those include people in long-term nursing facilities or over the age of 75, as well as health-care workers.

The clinic is a part of the county’s efforts to ensure that as many residents as possible are vaccinated in a timely manner, according to the release.

Located at 565 Broadway in Chula Vista, the superstation is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on both weekdays and weekends, the press release said. Vaccination will be only available by appointment, and residents are asked to either call coronavirus-sd.com or call 211 to find out more.
