Representatives Sara Jacobs (CA-51) and Stephanie Bice (OK-05) introduced, the “Workforce and Education Partnership Act”. This legislation would authorize the expansion of three existing “Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act” grant programs to create new partnerships between employers and educational institutions. These partnerships would focus on filling the most critical job vacancies identified by the state and local workforce boards.

Congresswoman Sara Jacobs said, “From the COVID-19 pandemic to the ‘Great Resignation’ to the 339,000 jobs created in May, there have been massive shifts in our country’s labor force. That’s why I’m proud to co-lead the Workforce and Education Partnership Act to help employers and educational institutions partner together to fill the most critical jobs in our communities. Our legislation will help build a pipeline of talented workers who can build careers and strengthen the economy in the places they already call home.”

“Everywhere I go in Oklahoma, I hear about workforce challenges. The Workforce and Education Partnership Act will help stimulate the economy and fill vacancies for companies throughout the country," said Rep. Bice.
