San Diego County is inviting the community to participate in a virtual meeting to discuss its 2025 legislative program. The meeting will be held at 5 p.m. on October 2.

Each year, the County Office of Economic Development and Government Affairs (EDGA) develops a legislative strategy for the Board of Supervisors. If approved, this strategy defines the County's positions on state and federal legislation and other regulatory actions affecting the region.

Last year, the County took positions on over 40 state and federal bills. Additionally, it sponsored four state bills addressing issues such as fentanyl education and overdose prevention, wildfire resilience, and healthcare access. Two of these bills were signed into law, while two await signatures.

Community feedback is vital to shaping the County’s legislative strategy. More information about the 2025 Legislative Program and registration details for the community meeting can be found at Engage San Diego County. Comments can also be submitted via email through October 6.

For questions regarding the virtual meeting or legislative program, or to request disability-related modifications, language interpretation, or other accommodations for the meeting, email Legislative.Program@sdcounty.ca.gov.

The EDGA oversees the County’s Legislative Program, economic development strategy, arts and culture initiatives, grants administration, and updates to strategic plans and governance documents.
