San Diego County has announced new leadership appointments for its Economic Development and Government Affairs (EDGA) and Communications Offices. Matthew Parr will assume the role of director for EDGA, having served as interim director in recent months. Previously, Parr was the Deputy Director of Strategy and Intergovernmental Affairs, overseeing legislative programs and advocacy strategies.

Under Parr's leadership, the county has made strides in legislative efforts such as environmental protection, health service expansion, and support for vulnerable populations. Notable achievements include Assembly Bill 636 for senior protections, Senate Bill 872 for mobile pharmacy services, and funding initiatives like the CARE Act and SB 43 for behavioral health support.

Tammy Glenn has been appointed as Director of the County Communications Office. She takes over from interim director Michael Workman who is set to leave next month. Glenn joined the county in 2007 and has been Assistant Director since 2012. Her tenure includes leading communications during regional emergencies through collaboration with various partners.

Glenn’s responsibilities have included managing the County News Center, social media updates on public programs, broadcasting Board of Supervisors meetings via the county's TV station, and facilitating community engagement through Engage San Diego County.

Both Parr and Glenn will begin their new roles on October 4th.
