San Diego County voters who have not yet cast their ballots for the upcoming November Presidential General Election will soon receive a reminder from the Registrar's office. As of October 17, over 1.7 million reminder postcards were sent to registered voters in the county.
The Registrar's office emphasizes the importance of early voting due to the numerous contests on this year's ballot, which could extend voting times. Voters are encouraged to utilize early voting options such as mailing their ballots, using official ballot drop boxes, or visiting any vote center in the county.
"Don’t delay! If you have been holding onto your ballot, act now and vote from the comfort of your home," advises the Registrar's office. Voters should ensure they sign and date their return envelopes and send them back promptly to guarantee arrival before November 5.
There are 150 official ballot drop boxes available throughout San Diego County, some accessible 24 hours a day depending on location hours. These secure boxes are marked with the Registrar’s logo and County seal and can be located via an online map or voter information pamphlet. All drop boxes will close at 8 p.m. on November 5.
For those preferring in-person voting, early voting is already open at the Registrar’s office during weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Starting October 26, thirty-nine vote centers will operate daily until November 4 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., expanding to over two hundred locations by November 2. On Election Day, November 5, all centers will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Voters can find more information about polling locations through their voter pamphlets or online at sdvote.com.
