Tuesday, November 5, marks the final opportunity for voters to participate in the Presidential General Election. Voters in San Diego County can cast their ballots early today at over 200 vote centers or drop them off at one of the Registrar's 150 official ballot drop boxes.
On election day, all voting locations will be operational from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Voters already in line by 8 p.m. will be allowed to vote; however, new arrivals will not be accepted after this time.
Those not yet registered can still conditionally register and vote provisionally at any vote center until November 5. The provisional ballots will be counted once voter registration is processed and confirmed by the Registrar’s office.
To accommodate increased voter turnout, more vote centers have been added, including six super centers equipped with additional resources such as check-in stations and voting booths.
Voters are encouraged to prepare in advance by reviewing their voter information pamphlet and marking selections on a sample ballot before entering the voting booth. This preparation aims to streamline the process when using touch screens on ballot marking devices available at each center.
It is important for voters to note that campaigning or electioneering within 100 feet of a voting location is prohibited. This rule extends to displaying materials advocating for or against any candidate or measure on the ballot.
Voters are urged not to delay due to potential long wait times stemming from numerous contests on the ballot. For those who still have their mail ballots, returning them promptly is advised as it expedites processing for election night results.
The Registrar’s locator map provides information on nearby official ballot drop boxes, most of which are accessible around-the-clock until closing at 8 p.m., November 5.
For those who mailed their ballots earlier, confirmation of receipt can be checked online through sdvote.com or tracked via the U.S. Postal Service's “Where’s My Ballot?” service.
