San Diego County has allocated $11.5 million to support the development of affordable housing for low-income individuals and unsheltered veterans. This funding opportunity, announced through a notice of funding availability (NOFA), combines various financial sources.

The NOFA also offers the chance to apply for Project Based Vouchers via the Housing Choice Voucher program and the Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing programs.

David Estrella, director of Health and Human Services Agency’s Housing and Community Development Services, stated, “Our region is behind in housing development to meet the needs of our community. We are constantly looking for construction, rehabilitation, and acquisition opportunities that increase affordable housing, supporting families, our veterans and ultimately build a more resilient future for the county.”

Qualified developers must submit complete proposals in accordance with all specified requirements outlined in the solicitation documents. The deadline for applications is 2 p.m. on December 20, 2024.

Further information can be found on the Housing and Community Development Services website or by contacting community.development@sdcounty.ca.gov.
