Last week, Senate Minority Leader Brian W. Jones from San Diego joined families of fentanyl overdose victims to unveil a new billboard in Fallbrook. The billboard aims to raise awareness about the dangers of fentanyl and its smuggling through the U.S.-Mexico border.

"This new billboard in Fallbrook is a constant reminder to drivers about the deadly impact of fentanyl, the lives it devastates, and the alarming amount smuggled into our country," stated Leader Jones. He emphasized the need for public understanding of this crisis to prevent further loss of life. "Everyone must understand the scale of this crisis to save lives. I was honored to join parents, families, and law enforcement to unveil this message. We can't bear to lose another loved one to a fentanyl overdose. The time for action is now—hold deadly drug dealers accountable and close the open border to stop the smuggling."

The billboard is located off I-15 at Old HWY 395 and N Mission Rd, near 4160 Mission Rd in Fallbrook, CA. It serves as a stark warning about fentanyl's dangers.

Victims' families, advocates, and representatives from both the DEA and U.S. Attorney’s Office attended an unveiling rally organized by Rachel's Angels, which focuses on raising awareness about fentanyl's impact. The billboard displays images of several overdose victims, highlighting the urgent nature of this issue.

Fentanyl poisoning results in over 110 deaths weekly in California alone. The drug predominantly enters through the southern border, with 98% of seized fentanyl coming via the U.S.-Mexico border.
