Representative Scott Peters, who has been serving California's 50th District since 2013, recently addressed several issues through a series of tweets. He initially replaced Brian Bilbray and was born in Springfield, Ohio in 1958, now residing in San Diego. Peters holds a BA from Duke University and a JD from New York University.

On March 31, 2025, Peters tweeted "This week, Republicans are voting on a bill to strip courts of their power to stop President Trump's illegal actions." He added that he proposed an amendment to affirm Congress' respect for the judiciary and the separation of powers, but it was rejected, stating, "They shot it down tonight."

On April 1, 2025, Peters shared or commented on an unidentified link, as shown in his succinct post: https://t.co/jypagXYaxD

On the same day, Peters expressed his position on deportation policies, stating "I unequivocally support deporting members of Tren de Aragua." Nevertheless, he raised concerns that many Venezuelans sent to prisons in El Salvador without trial might not be criminals, remarking "Reports are that some of these people were likely in the US."
