All public offices in San Diego County, including family resource centers, libraries, and animal shelters, will be closed on Thursday, November 28, and Friday, November 29 for the Thanksgiving holiday. Essential services such as law enforcement and emergency animal control response will continue to operate during this period.

County parks, campgrounds, and neighborhood day-use parks will remain open throughout the year. However, some locations will be closed on these two days. Camping reservations can still be made online via the County’s Online Camping Reservations web page; however, the Department of Parks and Recreation's reservation phone line will not be staffed during the holiday.

The Parks department is promoting "Green Friday," encouraging residents to opt for outdoor experiences instead of shopping. This initiative includes free family-friendly activities at County parks.

All County public health clinics will also close on Thursday and Friday. The animal shelters are set to resume their regular business hours on Saturday, November 30. All other County offices will return to normal business hours on Monday, December 2.

For more information or inquiries during this period, residents can contact the County Communications Office at communications@sdcounty.ca.gov or call 619-595-4633.
