Today marks Global Community Engagement Day, a time when communities worldwide come together to improve their local areas. The County of San Diego is highlighting the importance of collaboration and partnership with its residents, inviting them to provide input on various projects that may impact their neighborhoods or the county as a whole.
The County emphasizes that public comments and survey results are crucial in shaping decisions on regional issues. Current opportunities for public input include surveys on the Ambulance Ordinance, Annual Strategic Research Plan, Housing Authority Agency Plan, Racial and Ethnic Approaches to Community Health regarding vaccine knowledge, attitudes, and beliefs, and the County's use of Artificial Intelligence.
"Community engagement is at the center of everything we do at the County. We actively seek opportunities to partner with community to ensure they are part of the processes that impact their lives," stated a representative from the County.
In related news, several announcements have been made by the County. Offices will close for Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday; a new one-stop shop for county services has opened in Ramona; Board Supervisors have called for a District One Special Election; and there is an expansion in partnership with Sharp Chula Vista to enhance the Crisis Stabilization Unit Network.
Additionally, postcards have been sent to registered voters for an upcoming special primary election in District One. A new advisory workgroup focused on climate and social equity has also been formed.
