Rep. Scott Peters, currently serving in the U.S. Congress for California's 50th district, has been vocal on several key issues via his Twitter account. Born in Springfield, Ohio, Peters has been representing his district since 2013 and resides in San Diego. His educational background includes a BA from Duke University and a JD from New York University.

On February 10, 2025, Peters announced his return as Vice Chair of the Equality Caucus. In his post, he emphasized the importance of advocating for LGBTQI+ rights, stating: "I’m rejoining my role as a Vice Chair of the @EqualityCaucus because it’s never been more important to stand up for our LGBTQI+ community and fight for the rights of every American to live authentically and love who they choose."

Later that day, Peters commented on ongoing reports concerning Elon Musk and DOGE's compliance with legal standards and data protection. He urged transparency from Republicans about their private conversations with constituents: "Republicans should say in public what they are telling their constituents." He also called for DOGE to halt operations until legal assurances could be made.

On February 11, 2025, Peters addressed constitutional governance and criticized Donald Trump and JD Vance for allegedly undermining judicial authority. He stated: "Our founders created our Constitution with three co-equal branches of government and checks and balances." He emphasized the judiciary's role in upholding the rule of law against political challenges.
