Rep. Scott Peters, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing California's 50th district, shared his views on various political matters through a series of tweets. Peters has been a member of Congress since 2013 and resides in San Diego. He graduated from Duke University with a BA and holds a JD from New York University.
On February 12, 2025, Rep. Scott Peters expressed concerns about American companies engaging with governments that require bribes for business operations. "To state the obvious: this will not help eliminate corruption." He questioned the rationale behind such business dealings.
The following day, February 13, 2025, Peters cited Billy Graham to critique the Republican budget plan. "Billy Graham said, 'Give me five minutes with a person's checkbook, and I will tell you where their heart is.'" He suggested that the budget does not prioritize the middle class.
Later on February 13, he addressed House Republicans directly regarding their responsibilities as elected officials. "My message to House Republicans: You were independently elected." He urged them to fulfill their duties without undue influence from presidential directives.
