According to a scientific poll, San Diegans are divided on making the COVID-19 vaccine mandatory but a majority believes President Trump has committed a high crime or misdemeanor.
ABC 10 San Diego reports that as the COVID-19 vaccine begins to roll out nationwide, 35% of San Diegans surveyed in the ABC 10 News-San Diego Union-Tribune poll said they believe the vaccine should be mandatory, while 56% say it should be optional and 9% remain undecided.
A vaccine isn’t ready yet for children younger than 16, but 65% of respondents said they will get their child vaccinated when the vaccine is ready, while 13% said they wouldn't and 22% are undecided.
When presented with a hypothetical Kevin Faulconer-Gavin Newsom race for governor, approximately 38% said they would vote for Faulconer, the former San Diego mayor, 36% said they would back Gov. Newsom and 26% of those surveyed are undecided.
As the Trump administration nears its final days, approximately 55% of San Diegans surveyed say President Trump has committed a high crime or misdemeanor while in office, while 27% said he hasn't. The poll said 52% agreed Trump should be impeached and removed from office by Congress, while 48% said he should not have been impeached. When asked if Trump should be removed via the 25th Amendment, 66% said yes and 34% said no. The survey reported that 33% believe Trump should resign the presidency and 67% said he shouldn’t resign.
About 63% of those surveyed believe President-elect Joe Biden won the 2020 election "fair and square," while 23% of San Diegans say he was "helped across the finish line" and 15% answered that they "don't know enough to say."
