The County Health and Human Services Agency’s (HHSA) Edgemoor Skilled Nursing Facility has been recognized as one of the top nursing homes in California by Newsweek magazine for the fifth consecutive year. According to Dr. Luke Bergmann, Director of County Behavioral Health Services (BHS), "At Edgemoor, we provide the highest level of care to seriously ill and injured adult patients who require long-term care. We are proud that the hard work and commitment of our staff has been recognized as being among the best in California for five years in a row."

Edgemoor, under the BHS umbrella, offers 24-hour skilled nursing care, physical rehabilitation, as well as recreational, occupational, and speech therapy to its patients. Erin Chancler, Edgemoor’s Administrator, expressed pride in the accomplishment, stating, "It is a reflection of the staff’s dedication, commitment and hard work, as well as the support we have from the County, HHSA, and BHS leadership."

The Newsweek ranking further solidifies Edgemoor's reputation for providing top-quality treatment and services. The facility has been awarded a five-star rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services for its quality services. Additionally, in 2017, Edgemoor received the Gold Excellence in Quality Award from the American Health Care Association and the National Center for Assisted Living, making it one of only 53 skilled nursing facilities in the country to hold this honor.
