Senate Minority Leader Brian W. Jones from San Diego extended his congratulations to Senator Mike McGuire of Healdsburg, who was elected as the next Senate President Pro Tempore. In a statement, Jones expressed optimism about continuing their collaborative efforts for California's benefit.

"Congratulations to Senator Mike McGuire on his election as the next Senate President Pro Tempore," Jones stated. He highlighted their history of cooperation and McGuire's respect for diverse perspectives. "He has shown a willingness to work in a bipartisan manner and we are excited to continue this cooperation."

Jones also acknowledged the contributions of outgoing Senate President Pro Tem Toni Atkins. "I also want to thank Pro Tem Atkins for her service to the state of California," he said, appreciating her leadership during challenging times.

Jones assured that California Senate Republicans would persist in voicing concerns over measures they believe could hinder the state's progress. "As the loyal opposition, California Senate Republicans will continue to voice our concerns about any measures that threaten to drag our state backward and we remain committed to working with the new Pro Tem on real solutions to help fix California."
