U.S. Representative Scott Peters, serving California’s 50th district, recently shared his perspectives on current political issues and conveyed his good wishes for religious holidays via social media.

On April 18, 2025, Scott Peters raised concerns about tax filing procedures, questioning recent changes under former President Trump. "Why is Trump making it more expensive and complicated for taxpayers to file their taxes?" he asked. Peters suggested that the changes benefit tax preparation companies at the expense of taxpayers.

Later the same day, he extended good wishes to those observing a religious holiday. "Wishing all those observing a blessed Good Friday. May your preparations for Easter Sunday bring reflection and forgiveness."

On April 20, Peters offered a message for Easter celebrations. "From my family to yours, I wish you a happy and blessed Easter!" he tweeted, hoping the season would bring hope and joy.

Scott Peters, 64, was born in Springfield, Ohio, in 1958 and currently resides in San Diego. He has been serving in Congress since 2013 after replacing former member Brian Bilbray. Peters is a Duke University and New York University Law School alumnus.
