On Saturday, the San Diego County Department of Parks and Recreation unveiled Four Gee County Park to an enthusiastic crowd of nearly 200 people in 4S Ranch. The event was led by County Supervisor Joel Anderson who emphasized that “Nothing brings a community together like a park.”

The celebration included various activities for families and their pets. Dogs were seen enjoying their designated area of the park while laughter filled the air from areas such as the playground, chess tables, cornhole, and ping-pong tables. Additionally, park staff provided education and entertainment with a “Discovery Table” and a live owl.

Spanning over an acre, Four Gee County Park offers a range of amenities catering to all ages and interests. Families can enjoy a large shaded play structure with an adjacent lawn area. The park also features picnic tables, a grill, bike racks, walking paths, and restroom facilities.

Dog owners are catered for with fenced off-leash dog areas and agility course features. There is also a drinking fountain designed to accommodate both dogs and their owners.

Sustainability is at the heart of the County’s mission. The park is landscaped with drought-tolerant plants watered by smart irrigation systems as part of sustainability measures. Many trees and shrubs native to the area have been planted to complement existing vegetation and encourage wildlife.

Four Gee County Park will be open daily from sunrise to sunset. It will be patrolled and maintained by County Parks and Recreation staff stationed at the nearby 4S Ranch Sports Park.

The establishment of Four Gee County Park enhances the quality of life for both people and pets in San Diego by providing exceptional parks and recreation experiences while preserving significant natural resources. The total project cost is estimated at $1.9 million.
