Couples gathered at the County Administration Center in San Diego for a unique Halloween-themed wedding ceremony. On October 31, San Diego Assessor/Recorder/County Clerk (ARCC) Jordan Marks facilitated "Halloweddings," allowing couples to marry without prior appointments.
Officiants donned Halloween costumes to issue marriage licenses and conduct ceremonies with the theme "till death do us part." The event saw 98 marriage licenses issued and 80 ceremonies performed across four ARCC locations.
Annually, the office issues around 25,000 marriage licenses and conducts over 11,000 weddings. Almost half of those obtaining a license choose to hold their ceremonies at the ARCC office.
For more details on acquiring a marriage license or scheduling a civil wedding ceremony, individuals can visit the Marriage License & Civil Ceremony website. Additional “Hallowedding” pictures and videos are available online.
