The San Diego County community is invited to participate in an open house event focusing on the 2025-30 Capital and Public Works Plans. This gathering will occur from 6 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, November 14, at the County Operations Center Chambers located at 5520 Overland Ave. in Kearny Mesa.

This event offers residents a chance to learn about upcoming building projects in their neighborhoods, including libraries, parks, behavioral health centers, fire stations, and roads. Representatives from various county departments will be present to answer questions and gather public input.

In addition to informative sessions, attendees can enjoy family-friendly activities such as meeting live hawks and owls, interacting with CAL FIRE’s mascot alongside a fire engine display, viewing a Sheriff's Office armored vehicle, and witnessing a K9 narcotics detection demonstration. Visitors can also engage with the “Check Your Mood” prize wheel and play life-size games.

Residents are encouraged to visit the Engage Hub for more details on the draft plans for capital and public works projects from 2025-30. The site allows users to submit comments online, register for the event, and request interpretation services if needed.

For further information or inquiries regarding this event or other county news stories like traffic safety grants or initiatives supporting local artists and formerly incarcerated individuals in job hiring processes, contact the County Communications Office at communications@sdcounty.ca.gov or call 619-595-4633.
