Senate Minority Leader Brian W. Jones from San Diego has welcomed legislators back to Sacramento as the new 2025-2026 legislative session begins. In his statement, he emphasized the importance of addressing key issues such as affordability, crime, and homelessness in California.
"We are excited to return to Sacramento this morning as the Legislature reconvenes for the '25-'26 session," said Leader Jones.
Jones called on his colleagues to focus on solving problems within California rather than getting distracted by national politics. "I urge my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to set aside partisan politics and the distractions of national chaos. Our job is to fix California and the everyday problems our constituents face," he stated.
He also expressed a commitment to bipartisan cooperation while maintaining a critical stance when necessary. "As always, I’m committed to working in a bipartisan manner to achieve real solutions for Californians, while also embracing the Republican role as the loyal opposition," he noted.
Jones concluded with a call for action: "Let’s get to work and Fix California!"
