Scott Peters, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California's 50th district since 2013, has been vocal on social media regarding actions taken by former President Trump and other influential figures. Peters, who has an academic background from Duke University and New York University, frequently uses his platform to address political issues.

On March 21, 2025, Peters stated his intention to hold the Trump administration accountable. In his tweet, he declared, "I will continue to use this thread to hold the Trump Admin accountable for any attempt to enrich themselves or give special treatment to allies not available to ordinary Americans."

The same day, Peters criticized former President Trump's approach towards government officials in another post. He asserted that "President Trump is sending a clear message that he is more than willing to fire any government official who tries to prevent his corruption."

Two days later, on March 23, 2025, Peters addressed concerns about Elon Musk's actions affecting federal workers in a tweet. He argued that ".@ElonMusk creates government inefficiency when he illegally fires federal workers we will have to pay and rehire anyway," adding that these workers could be contributing significantly in various sectors such as health and national parks.
