Over 1.9 million ballots are being sent to registered voters in San Diego County for the upcoming November Presidential General Election. Voters should expect to receive their ballots during the week starting Monday, October 7. The official ballot packet will include an "I Voted" sticker.
Due to a large number of contests on the ballot, voting may take longer than usual. The Registrar's office advises voters to cast their votes early. Voters have the option to vote from home and return their ballots by mail without needing postage or use any of the Registrar’s official ballot drop boxes from Tuesday, October 8 through Tuesday, November 5.
It is important for voters to sign and date their return ballot envelopes for their votes to be counted. Those using the U.S. Postal Service can track their ballots by signing up for "Where’s My Ballot?".
In-person voting begins on Monday, October 7 at the Registrar of Voters office in Kearny Mesa, with hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Starting Saturday, October 26, additional in-person voting options will be available with the opening of 39 vote centers operating daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
On Saturday, November 2, more than 200 vote centers will open and operate daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., continuing through November 4. On Election Day, Tuesday, November 5, all vote centers and official ballot drop boxes will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Voters planning to vote in person are encouraged to prepare by reading their pamphlet and marking selections on the sample ballot beforehand. This allows them to efficiently mark choices on their official ballot at the voting booth.
Information about nearby vote centers or official ballot drop boxes can be found in voter information pamphlets or online using the View Voter Information Pamphlet (Sample Ballot) tool at sdvote.com.
