Rep. Scott Peters, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing California's 50th district, recently addressed several pressing issues through a series of tweets. Peters has been an active member of Congress since 2013 and has consistently voiced his concerns on various matters affecting national security, consumer protection, and environmental safety.

On February 11, 2025, Rep. Peters highlighted cybersecurity concerns involving Microsoft and its AI platform. He stated that "Just last year, Microsoft was hacked by China due to 'avoidable errors' in their cybersecurity system." He expressed apprehension about Elon Musk's decision to process sensitive data through Microsoft's AI platform, urging that "DOGE needs to stop its work immediately" here.

Later that day, Peters tweeted about the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), praising its employees for their efforts to protect consumers from financial abuses. He criticized former President Trump and Elon Musk for attempting to shut down the bureau: "Trump and Musk want to shut it down, laying off dedicated employees and costing American consumers more money" here.

In another tweet on February 11, 2025, Peters discussed the suspension of funding for wildfire prevention by former President Trump. He warned of increased risks due to this pause in funding: "When the next megafire hits, our communities will be less prepared and in greater danger." Alongside colleagues such as Rep. Huffman and Rep. Joe Neguse, he demanded immediate action from the administration here.
