Rep. Scott Peters, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing California's 50th District since 2013, recently shared a series of tweets on February 15, 2025. These posts cover topics ranging from Black History Month to concerns about government practices and veteran support.

In his first tweet of the day, Rep. Peters highlighted Black San Diegans during Black History Month. He stated, "This Black History Month, I’m highlighting Black San Diegans from the past and present to share their stories of courage, resilience, and trailblazing leadership. Dr. Brown’s contributions have made our community a better place. We must uplift his example." This message underscores his commitment to honoring influential figures within his community.

Later that day, Rep. Peters addressed issues concerning government officials' ability to discuss certain financial matters involving Elon Musk and former President Donald Trump. He expressed concern over censorship by stating, "Government officials have to censor themselves from talking about the $500M in food Elon and Trump are letting rot unless they want to lose their jobs. Is letting food we already purchased waste away saving taxpayers' money?" He further mentioned ongoing dismissals by Trump of officials willing to speak out.

In another tweet on the same day, Rep. Peters discussed staffing challenges at VA hospitals and clinics caused by layoffs attributed to Musk and Trump. He wrote, "VA hospitals and clinics are already short-staffed and can not afford to lose more than 1,000 people serving veterans." He criticized these actions as harmful to those who serve veterans in America.
